Why
Did I Do IT? (a thought on my mind during mile 23)
|
|
|
| To
raise awareness
1
in 20 adults in DC is
HIV+, that is 9 times the number of cases per capita than any other
city in the country. While there is still no cure, there is hope.

To
raise $ for treatment
An
alarming number of new infections are among women,
people of color,
and youth
ages 13 to 24. While treatment options and life expectancy for HIV/AIDS
patients with insurance has been improving, if you are poor, there
are very few places to turn. A
Kaiser Family Foundation study reports that an estimated 60%
of adults infected with HIV/AIDS
are not in regular care.
The AIDS Marathon program raises money for the Whitman
Walker Clinic to provide treatment to
residents of the DC Metro area.

Thanks
for your HELP!
Thanks to the support of so many
people, I raised over $1800 for the Whitman Walker Clinic.
